United Nations procurement programs constitute an important part of international cooperation with United Nations.World Human Dimension has important role to play in defending the rights of the small and medium business and informing it about opportunities of cooperation with the United Nations and of participation in various UN programs. Also to inform the Russian business community in particular about United Nations procurement programs and possibilities of different United Nations agencies around the world.
"Sustainable" or "green" procurement is rooted in the principle of pollution prevention, which strives to eliminate or to reduce risks to human health and the environment. In order to do so, UN purchases are based on a variety of criteria, ranging from the necessity of the purchase, resource consumption, waste generation, environmental impact and health of the users.
In cooperation with the United Nations Office of Project Services and on the basis of WHD's experience of interaction with the United Nations procurement system WHD Department of Economic Cooperation devised a program of participation of russian-based business in the Aid&Trade exhibitions independently and through cooperation with World Human Dimension to lower the cost of their participation in the World Fairs.
It provides the Russian business community with detailed information about United Nations procurement programs and possibilities of different United Nations agencies around the world.
ДЕЛОВЫЕ ВЫСТАВКИ ООН
International AID & TRADE проводятся ежегодно в США и Европе, очередная выставка ООН прошла в 2009 году 8 – 9 июня в столице США – г. Вашингтон. В выставках ООН ежегодно активно участвуют неправительственные организации, имеющие консультативный статус при ООН. Они помогают фирмам своих стран участвовать в деловом сотрудничества с ООН, которая ежегодно закупает у различных фирм мира, в том числе и малого бизнеса, товаров и услуг на 3 – 4 миллиарда долларов. 
Ввиду пассивности российских фирм в деле установления сотрудничества с ООН и недостатка в России информации об этих выставках, возможности сотрудничества с ООН российские фирмы почти не используют, уступая эти выгодные контракты иностранным предпринимателям.
K сожалению, от России на выставках в Нью-Йорке и Женеве до сих пор работала пять только одна общественная неправительственная организация - Международный гуманитарный фонд ( МГИ – WHD), имеющая в ООН Специальный консультативный статус. МГИ - WHD организовывала на выставке ООН в Женеве собственный стенд, на котором были представлены также и интересы коммерческих фирм России.
